“Environmental justice [means that] no community should be saddled with more environmental burdens & less environmental benefits than any other.”
-- Majora Carter
In 2022, Tulsa saw a record surge of days with temperatures over 100 degrees.
Responding to this crisis, Operation:HydrateTulsa was born.
This project started as a multi-organization & volunteer effort to mitigate harm to our unsheltered community members providing our neighbors with hydration, snacks, medical assistance, harm reduction & other resources. It has grew to provide unrestricted access to potable water to those in need during the hottest months of the year. This not only includes our unsheltered neighbors, but pedestrians, bicyclist or anyone traveling to or from Tulsa.
It is our belief that access to clean water is a fundamental human right and we strive to make a positive impact in our community.
